Title- The Trojan Dragon (December 8, 1990)
Game- Dragon Warrior, Legend of Zelda (cameo)
Out of the two episodes set on Dragon’s den, this one is probably more superior. There’s a good mystery as to what’s actually in the egg and the animation’s great throughout. There’s very few episode’s where the animations not too good and this is one of the best. The characters especially the old shopkeeper look anime quality.
We got a few character developments such as Simon’s claustrophobia and Game Boy’s preoccupied. YES!! Anyway, the disguise was cool, especially the fact that Dragon Lord felt that the fake was actually a battle scarred veteran was cool. Speaking of Dragon Lord, he seemed to make more of an impact here, he was actually supported and seemed to pose an actual threat.
Kevin actually got a sword and shield. It was a nice change even if he lost them pretty quick. Finally we get to see Zelda and Link once more. I must say, next to Dr Wright, they were my favourite recurring characters. Finally I must say I love the whole size of the Dragons, considering the normal dragons are DK sized and the secret weapon dwarfs them, it makes the threat more clear.
Overall a great episode, which elevated Dragon Quest from the previous good episode.
