Title-In Search of the King (November 18, 1989)
Game- Wizards and Warriors
Guest Voice
King Charles-Long John Baldry
This episode rocks. We finally get to see the king of Videoland and find out what happened to him. The mirror world is cool, and we get to see more of Wizards and Warriors which is the only time we will get to. The King is great and voiced by Long John Baldry, that guy who voiced Dr Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. The episode had a genuine mystery going, we knew that King Charles was strangely actually going around normally but it kept you guessing why he was trying to hide till the reached the mirror.
The Mirror N team were great and some of the few villains that actually seemed threatening. I felt actual sadness about what happened to King Charles at the end. King Charles was a good ruler, and you wished he would come back so you could see his full greatness.
Another bonus, while the 4 of them are good, this episode was the first to not feature Mother Brain, which greatly helped gain the actual villains bonus points. Like I said before a villain needs to be independent to be at their best, and so far Mother Brain was behind everything, the only other good villains are the ones who use Mother Brain for thier own plot.
Overall an excellent episode that shows us why Lana is always searching for her father.
