The Legend of Zelda episode 8

Title- Underworld Connections (27/10/1989)

Holy crap! Actual blood, in this show? So we can see a snake get it’s face ripped up and green blood pour out after Link kicks it, but we can’t see Link use his sword whatsoever? Do you know how badass it was when in Captain N Link sliced an enemy clean in two?

Also we see Aquamentis, who it actually makes sense given the name to be in water. Anyway, this episode is about Link and Zelda searching for pieces of the Triforce in Gannons realm, which I never realised is actually the size of Hyrule itself. The episodes ok, which means it’s pretty boring. Another typical plot of looking for the Triforce.

There are some good moments, especially how badass Gannon becomes when he controls the lava in the volcano part. Gannon is seriously powerful in this cartoon sometimes, which makes him actually better than the other two DIC villains I can think of (Koopa, and Dr Robotnik from AOSTH) as he actually fights his enemies.

Overall ok, but pretty boring. I’m really struggling in deciding whether to view these episodes quickly and get them over with, or if I need to give it a rest for my sanity’s sake. (What little of it remains.) This series isn’t absolutely awful, it’s just pretty boring, and that can sometimes be worse to sit through than a show that’s so bad, it’s laughable, as at least you can laugh.
